The rapid growth of e-commerce pushed us to start an intensive effort to expand our team in November 2020.
In previous years, we used Code Arena and Marketing Arena for recruiting, evaluating, and onboarding new team members. We offered free training at our Agios Stefanos offices to groups of 20, aiming to hire developers and marketers.
COVID-19 made it impossible to continue this way. We had already postponed Code Arena and Marketing Arena three times this year.
So, for the first time, we ran Code Arena and Marketing Arena remotely, with exercises and training material in video format.
Remote training is different from in-person, but over the last seven months, 588 candidates completed the process. That’s far more than the total from the previous 9 Code Arena and Marketing Arena events combined.
This led to 19 new hires and nearly doubled our team to 44 people. Accepting remote work played a big part. Some of these 19 are outside Athens, and some are even outside Greece.
