A new brand in cinema
Options Cinemas was born by combining the former Ster Cinemas and Odeon Cinemas under one roof. It was set to be the new cinema brand everyone would talk about. That alone raised the bar.
The work covered logo design with color palette and typography, then design and build of the website with custom design on Netstudio's platform.
The project kicked off in August under tight confidentiality. We had less than 4 months until doors opened, and everything had to be ready.
Logo and brand identity design — creativity without limits.
WOW. That was our designer's first reaction after the project kickoff.
"It's a unique chance to design the logo for a brand with no past, aimed at everyone who loves cinema. I had to draw on every project I've ever worked on to picture the founders' vision and translate those values into the logo. It's a bit like writing history."
From the very first design presentation, we agreed on 90% of the core logo elements. The final logo landed on October 4. The color palette mixes mystery with optimism, and the typography is modern but clean across print and digital. The mark itself shows a sound wave — exactly what you feel in a Dolby Atmos room — combined with the shape of a drop hitting water, a nod to the crisp picture in the screening rooms.

Options Cinemas - The website design and build
This was a tight collaboration between designers and Netstudio's developers. When the logo sets sky-high expectations for the website but mobile imposes real constraints, things get tricky.
"The aesthetic of the logo, the brand color palette, and the cinema experience itself all had to land in the website without weighing it down or making navigation harder."
The website design Konstantinos Penlidis presented was a real challenge for the developers.
We built a striking out-of-screen slider for the top film picks. The home page has dedicated sections for film info, services, and the venues themselves.
Top-level category landing pages and inner pages follow UX/UI best practices so visitors can browse and read content without effort.
The admin tools let the Options Cinemas marketing team update the site and add content quickly, with no unnecessary complexity.
The site loads in 2.1 seconds, is one of the easiest sites we've built to navigate, and handles up to 3,000 concurrent users without issue (measured during the "Cinema Festival 2023").
