In our 21 years building and promoting websites professionally, we've often been asked to help remove personal data from the internet.
This covers the removal of personal information like mobile numbers, emails, full name and home address from Google, Bing, Yandex and the wider internet, so it's not easy for someone to track the person concerned. It also covers the removal of defamatory references from news articles, social media and elsewhere.
Methodology
The approach depends on the type of personal data we're trying to remove.
Removing references to personal information is a different job from removing defamatory or malicious comments. Some of the methods we use:
- Reaching out to site owners to remove the articles, references or personal information in question
- Reaching out to Google to remove the items from the Google Index
- Legal action with experienced lawyers
Are results guaranteed?
Most of the time we manage to remove every reference. It isn't guaranteed though. Even when we can't get everything, we substantially reduce the number of references and the impact they have on the person concerned.
Every case we've taken on has ended with a happy client.
