My market's eshop is now unified with their main site, both running on Netstudio's e-commerce platform.
The move away from Drupal 8 was necessary. The eshop's needs had grown, so the migration happened in two phases. First, the eshop was rebuilt on Netstudio's custom platform. A few months later, it merged with the main site.
Now, mymarket.gr has much faster response times (especially for logged-in users) and a higher Page Speed Insights score. This boost is clear in the site's conversion rates.
The site also uses the latest version of FindasticTM filters and smart search, which now includes the "Rules" feature. Rules let the team sell space in search results and product categories to suppliers. Eshop admins just pick which products or brands to promote for specific searches, filters, or categories, and set the time period they want.
This project was complex. We had to build systems to handle all the supermarket's offers. We started with Netstudio Promotions and added more promotion rules.
Managing over 50 customer service hubs meant tracking different stock, availability, and pricing for each one. That led to more than 2 million records in the database. This was another reason to leave Drupal and move to our custom platform.
We also built dozens of other systems to meet the site's needs, including:
- contests,
- product sampling,
- rules for showing pickup options based on the customer's location,
- pickup time slots,
- shopping lists,
- product reviews,
- scheduled banner display,
- the ability for users to edit or cancel orders after placing them, with automatic store updates,
The new platform also brings easier management, faster rollout of new features, and stronger security. That's a big deal for large companies like My market.
Users weren't affected by the migration. We kept their usernames and passwords, order history, shopping lists, product reviews, and addresses.
The project finished on schedule. The My market team was completely satisfied with the result.
