How We Turned a Small Car Rental in Corfu into a Powerhouse

From a small car rental office in Corfu, UNO CAR HIRE became a digital success story. With targeted digital marketing and ongoing optimization, in 5 years it evolved into a dynamic tourism business with a presence in many European and international markets.

2019: First steps in the global market with Google Search

Our partnership started with one goal: secure bookings for summer 2019. Back then, the company operated as Corona Rent a Car and had a limited fleet.

Using Google Search, we set up English campaigns with high-intent keywords and targeted markets with strong interest in holidays in Corfu. At the same time, we excluded regions with low demand based on tourism data.

The result: 207 conversions in the first year

2020: Booking growth during the pandemic

Despite the uncertainty of Covid-19, the business saw a 30.5% increase in conversions. This was also the year of the rebranding from "Corona" to Uno Car Hire, giving the brand a fresh image, away from negative associations. We also expanded targeting to the Greek market with our first campaigns in Greek.

2021: Expanding into multilingual markets

With a bigger ad budget and sharper targeting, conversions jumped by 66.5%.

We launched separate campaigns in 5 languages (English, French, Italian, German, Polish), using locally adapted keywords and ad copy.

2022: Smart strategy & record bookings

By adopting advanced digital tactics, dynamic targeting and smart signals in Google Ads, along with ongoing multilingual strategies, we achieved:

  • 130% more conversions
  • Over 1,000 bookings in a single year

2023: Another booking record and 40% lower CPA

This year, two key moves led to a 57% increase in conversions over the previous year:

  • Redesigned the France campaign, cutting cost per booking by 40%
  • Launched a dedicated campaign for the US with its own budget

2024: Steady growth and double the Conversion Rate

We tested new keyword strategies for the Italian market, but switched back to proven options (exact & phrase match) for better ROI. Overall results:

  • 10% more conversions
  • Total Conversion Rate up by 102%

2025: The power of information

In 2025, the strategy focused on even smarter use of data and detailed performance reviews for each market. Thanks to our close collaboration with the client and access to key insights about tourism trends, we managed to reallocate the ad budget with even greater precision.
