My journey began when I left Methoni to study at the Computer Engineering department of TEI Piraeus, where I graduated.
I’ve always loved new technology and building things (I still remember the custom fork I made when I was five, just to fit into the kitchen socket…). While I was studying, everyone was talking about the arrival of ADSL. The Internet was taking off. A whole new digital world was being built, and in Greece, it was still at the foundation stage. In 2008, I started helping build that world, joining a web development company as a web developer. Back then, custom CMS platforms were all the rage, so I spent a lot of time working on those. I built dozens of sites, most of them dynamic presentations in PHP, plus quite a few ecommerce sites for different companies.
Along the way, I discovered how much a website needs promotion, and how little most webmasters actually do to make that happen. I’ll admit, I wasn’t a big fan of advertising, but what drew me to online marketing was how quickly you can measure results. That’s how my online marketing journey began. So far, I’ve picked up two certifications: one from Google as a Google Adwords Qualified Individual, and one from Web Ceo University as a Professional Internet Marketer.
This journey has also given me the chance to develop and manage dozens of online ad campaigns, and to help shape and improve the image of products and services for all kinds of businesses. The journey isn’t over yet. Next stop: conquering the Drupal islands. Luckily, there are plenty of pirates at Netstudio who can help me out.
